Hi there! I am a Mindset Coach, Business Executive, and Self-Empowerment Strategist who guides aspiring business professionals in maximizing potential, rising the corporate ladder, and achieving career goals with confidence and courage. With 15+ years of experience in leadership roles for big brands and high-tech companies, including two in the Fortune 100, I have mentored 100+ professionals in optimizing their business performance and charting a positive path forward. As a certified coach, I help clients navigate successful careers using my signature methodology, which includes my ‘Thick-Skin Theory’ and ‘Courage Formula.’ I can quickly identify what holds them back and then liberate them with a mastery of skillsets, from improving interpersonal communication and leadership influence to overcoming corporate adversity and imposter syndrome to organizing life and avoiding burnout—my expertise: strengths-based development, 360-degree corporate relationship building, and mastery of positive self-talk. 

My career story evolved through overcoming challenges as a 28-year-old Chinese immigrant and inexperienced female professional seeking to succeed in a country where I could not speak English. I started teaching myself the language, and one serendipitous conversation in a hallway led to my first job. In the early years of her career, I hustled to rise the ranks while sacrificing a lot as I continually moved to support my husband in his job role. I learned the power behind communication and relationships by asking just about everybody to help me perfect my communication skills. My career journey—full of opportunities, challenges, and adventures—taught me the trifecta of confidence, perseverance and resilience, which would inevitably shape my ‘Courage Formula’ that I now teach clients. Often, as the only API minority woman in executive groups, I developed a thick skin, adept at thriving through constant feedback and change. My ‘Thick-Skin Theory’ is foundational to my coaching program. It empowers all types of professionals—from first-generation immigrants to minority data scientists to entry- and mid-level workers—in harnessing energy in ways that quickly advance their careers. 

While working a corporate job and mentoring many professionals, I discovered my calling to help people pursue their life purpose. As a personal adventure (and a birthday gift to myself!), I founded a career & leadership development company, ‘Finding Joy Coaching.’ I build creative empowerment solutions for clients, inspiring them to tune into their superpower and use it for greatness. During a year of pandemic, I have spoken to more than 7,000 people through 40+ complimentary webinars, panel discussions, and coaching sessions to help them manage stress and advance their career through energy leadership techniques. 

I hold an M.D. in Preventive Medicine, a Ph.D. in Epidemiology and Statistics, and an ICF Professional Certified Coach (PCC) license, with additional completed courses in self-development, executive presence, and leadership. When my mind isn’t busy helping people plot career success, it might be taking a break on the coastal beaches. In fact, I have napped on some of the most beautiful beaches, with Florida and Mexico as my current favorites… and Hawaii on the horizon.
